Safety Measures

“Understand this, no job is worth injury.”

These are the first words I say to every employee their first day on the job, and reiterate at our monthly safety training sessions. Whether we work from a ladder, hold a 4000 psi pressure hose, or use potentially lethal chemicals, we have three critical missions:

1) We must prevent bodily injury to any person.

2) We must prevent damage to your property.

3) We must maintain your trust in us to complete the task assigned safely, promptly and effectively.

If we fail in any of those areas, we have failed our primary mission. No exceptions.

How do we do this? First, we carry proper insurance:

GL_Certificate_500

The agent for our $2,000,000 General Liability policy is Wade Murray at Snap Lewis Insurance in Statesboro. His phone number is 912-764-3146.

The agent for our Workman’s Compensation is Bryan Burke at Blount, Burke, Wimberly & Hendricks in Statesboro. His phone number is 912-764-9602.

Protect yourself. If you are considering any contractor to do work on your property, insist on seeing a certificate at the very least, but better, call his agent and make sure the policy is actually valid and in force. If a contractor working on your property injures himself and is not covered by his employer with workman’s compensation, the owner of that property is liable for his medical bills. Please, do not expose yourself to that situation.

Of course, that’s only the beginning. Our commitment to your peace of mind is reflected in our monthly safety training, our annual IWCA convention attendance, and our everyday behavior. Give us a try. See if you can’t tell the difference.

Annual attendance at the 700-member IWCA convention every February is a must for our safety program.

And every summer we get together with the professionals of the Window Cleaning Network in Wisconsin to renew and enhance our knowledge in safety procedures and to learn and experience new techniques and tools and learn from the experts and manufacturers that lead our industry.

So what does all this training do? Exactly what we said at the top of the page!

We work safe to protect you and your property, and no other company in our area goes to these lengths to do that. Truth is, I wish they would.

If I could share one thing it is this:

The ladder is the most dangerous piece of equipment we own. They are especially dangerous when used without proper training. Before you get on a ladder again, no matter what the reason, order this kit from Werner. It’s not all we do, but it’s a place to start.

If you think taking extra steps to be safe is inconvenient, imagine how inconvenient riding in an ambulance is. Your loved ones will thank you.
